Back to School Project

On Tuesday the 11th June 2024, as part of our “Back to School Project” we embarked on a three days volunteering work at the Abigyakrom AMA Basic School, a community school in the Central Region off the Gomoa West Afranse Abodom road.

This was our second visit to the school, the first which was in 2019. As part of our commitment which are in phases, the second phase of this project was in the set up of an ICT centre, the painting of the school and presentation of school supplies comprising of exercise books, pens, pencils, erasers, mathematical sets etc… Together with our volunteers, some who have travelled long distance purposely to participate in this project, made these three days worthwhile.

We received two volunteers from Marquette University High School, Milwaukee, Wisconsin USA, Nathan and Michael who joined us and at the forefront ensured that the projects were executed successfully as planned. The goal was to ensure that the students are trained and equipped with ICT skills, knowledge and that they have the right school supplies in their studies, reaching out to over 200 students. We also had the opportunity to tour the village, most importantly on how Abigyakrom were surviving, through their cassava and cocoa farm. Also they were into gari processing, a local dish and how the proceeds of this venture are being used to build the community.

It’s a collective effort by all and we playing our role in this regard will contribute in making education accessible to all.
To our volunteers far and beyond, thank you for continues commitment and support.
